I'm noticing a series of pin holes developing along the bottom edge of my hot water pipe. You see a droplet of water & green oxidation on the pipe. For now the drips are minor & could be repaired by replacing the section of pipe.
My question is what will fix the problem "long term".
The pipe in question is an original, circa 1953, but a hot water heater was installed about 5 years ago. I thought it might be a grounding problem, but thought electrolysis was caused by two dissimilar metals? Maybe in the water supply? Why only this one section of pipe?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
