The valve-stem on the main water shut-off keeps turning without shuting off the water. Do I have to replace the whole valve which is sweat-soldered to copper pipe, or can I replace the stem only. I think it is a gate valve that has a screw to close the gate. The turn screw is severed so I can't shut off the water when turning the handle. Any advice or experiences with this is appreciated |
