As a Kitchen designer I must tell you. If you are concerned about color or stain variation cherry should be off your list of wood choices.
Cherry is known for variations. Most kitchen designers including myself would never allow a client to order cherry kitchen cabinets without fully explaining this. YOU WILL HAVE VARATIONS WITH CHERRY KITCHEN CABINETS. If you have any questions feel free to contact me
