If tightening the nut does not stop the drip, you will have to return it. This is sort of the trade off for HD's low prices. : I put in a new 3/4 ball valve this weekend, but it leaks (steady drip) from the nut. I have tried to tighten the nut but to no avail. Any advice as I would hate to have to return it to HD and cut in the line since my sodered joints held.
