You need the membrane anytime the shower base is even with or above the surrounding floor. I think it would be premature to pour the shower base, since it is usually done when the tile in installed. : I installed drain pipe around the inside walls of my basement. I want to install a bathroom which includes a shower. When they pour the concrete I am going to have them make a concrete shower base. My question is; do you still have to use that CPE membrane to prevent leaks? If you do, where does one buy it and is it hard to install? : Thank You Very Much.........Jim
