The jurisdiction having control over septic tanks, usually the county, will have minimum standards for the location. If the hill is permeable soil, I would not have a lot of reservations about the location. If it is rock or granite, then the water will seek the easiest route and that will usually be downhill. : I live on a hill, the council has asked if I have any objections to a new dwelling being built further up the hill, in principle i don't however, the new dwelling is to use a ceptic tank and soack away which will be right next to out property. Is there any regulations on siting of tanks and soakaways next to homes?.
