|In response to Re: Converting chrome bathroom fixtures to polished brass|
Your only hope would be if Eljer makes the same faucets that you now have, in polished brass. If so, then you can replace all the parts in the old one with the new parts. Otherwise you have to open the walls and retile, or otherwise patch the wall.
: I have Eljer fixtures in my three bathrooms and would like to replace two with polished brass. I have had two plumbers tell me that the cost would be prohibitive since pipes and fittings would have to be replaced and tile around shower fittings would need to be torn out. (1) Are there brass faucets that could be attached to my present fittings? (2) Is there any system that could convert my present faucets to brass? (3) Are there brass sleeves that could fit over the chrome extensions in showers? Help.
