You will have to remove it anyway, but you could find that it will be more cost effective to replace the unit with a ready made jetted unit, since you will then get a waranty with it, and depending on which one you buy, it could also be foam insulated after the piping is installed to make it more effcient and comfortable.

: : How is the tub constructed? Most of them are installed in the ground and then tiled so it would be impossible to "jet" it without building a new one. If it is above the floor with wood framing, trying to jet it would penetrate, and destroy, the integrity of the safety pan liner and probably allow leakage.
