FYI: Apparently a faulty pressure switch was causing the pump to overload and shut down as described. Thanks for the info and I'll let you know if that doesn't take care of the problem. : Any water level switch would be a separate item and not part of the pump. It appears more likely that the pump is going into overload shutdown, possibley due to a failing motor. If so that would turn it off for a short while every so often. : : I am on a submersible well system. Recently, we experienced problems when there would suddenly be no pressure in the system. Sometimes it would only be a minute, sometimes several mintues before pressure would return. I checked the breaker and it's fine. I also checked the switch with a volt meter and it is fine, but the pump was not running. Then it would kick on and filthe pressure tank some minutes later.
