If it is a new "new" house call the plumbers that installed the piping. If the house is new to you, then call a plumber to unplug the drain line.

: Plumbing Gods,
: I just moved into my new house and ran the dishwasher yesterday while I was out. When I arrived home later there was water (presumably) from the dishwasher filling up both of my kitchen sinks. The dishwasher also had standing water in it. This morning I took everything apart under the sink and checked the traps and the hose connecting the dishwasher to the trap under the sink. Everything is clean and fine. So, I put it back together and ran the dishwasher again. This time, no water in the dishwasher, but water again in the sinks. On the other side of the wall from the kitchen is (I suppose)an overflow pipe that has been spewing water out onto my porch while the dishwasher runs. If I just let the water stand and eventually seep down the drain, the pipe outside does not overflow. Any suggestions for what to do?
