Unless you kinked the drain hose so the water cannot be pumped out in the designed time, the drain connection is not the problem. Is the water empty after the cycle is complete? If not, did you remove the plug from the disposer before connecting the dishwasher?
: I installed a new KitchenAid dishwasher without an air gap. Also, I have a single basin, farmhouse sink with a new garbage disposal. We have installed all new plumbing in the kitchen. The dishwasher doesn't work. We are now on our second dishwasher and it has the same problem - the dishes are murky, there is white residue on everything and food particles throughout the dishwasher. It appears that the dishwasher isn't draining before it starts the next cycle. Could the lack of airgap be the problem? We looped the hose as high as possible as recommended. My mother has the same dishwasher and it works great. We feel there is something wrong with our plumbing but not sure what.
