In that case you have created a SERIOUS cross connection in your plumbing system that affects all your neighbors! The sink valve controls potable water - and the dishwasher discharges bacterial laden wastewater. You have created a serious Cross connection that now endangers your entire family, as well as all your neighbors. Your potable water purveyor can start getting complaints from your neighbors that they are suffering stomache and gastrointestinal disorders caused by the E-Coli bacteria that you are introducing into the water supply. Contact a LICENSED plumber in a hurry to get help in extracting you from this serious liability issue before your kids are hospitalized! : : When my diswasher is done with washing the dishes, the water is not emptying through my garbage disposal, it's emptying through the valve on the sink. I've cleaned the water lines that run from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal, but it's still happening.
