| In response to Re: gas line through foundation or joist for grill | |

Normally 12" above the ground. : The house I just purchased has a capped (and valved) 1/2 gas line branch in the basement, presumably for adding an appliance later. I would like to extend this line outside for hooking up a natural gas grill (only about 4 more feet). : Is it better to run the pipe throught the floor joist and siding or through the cinder block foundation? Do I need to be a certain distance above ground according to code? : Any advice would be appreciated?
