Yes, check for a leak where the tank sits on the bowl if you lean back against the tank.

: Okay I need some help. I'm basically clueless when it comes to plumbing but I have a major problem. The toilet in my apartment leaks water from the base everytime it is used (sat upon). The landlord has replaced the tank/toilet combo twice (once for this problem, once because of something else) and totally replaced the bathroom floor including the fixtures that hook the toilet to the pipes in the floor (i'm sorry I'm not sure what this is called...rings, etc.) However, IT still leaks. It doesn't leak when flushed if no one is sitting on the seat. It is constantly causing a mess in the bathroom & I'm afraid it will ruin the new floor (and I'll be held responsible) I've told the landlord about the problem...but since it's been replaced & only happens when in use...he basically thinks I'm a wack job. *laugh* Can anybody give me some advice? What is causing this problem? Is there anything I can do on my own to help stop the leaking?
