Sound normal to me. What happened was the drain trap became plugged with dirt and lint because it was never used. Then when you need it, it didn't work. The water you see now is what seals the sewer gas from coming out of the drain. All of you fixtures have one. It's built into the toilets, but you can see the others. They're the double U pipes usually right under the drains. When you're drain isn't used, like the floor drain, there could be an odor. Try running some water into it once in awhile and see if that doesn't keep the smell away.
