I'm new to this stuff. :) What are the benefits of the elongated bowl?

: Performance is the same. I don't promote round bowls, I think they are a poor idea.
: The only reason they are installed as standard fare, is that they are cheaper. If cost was no object, they would be rare. I sell nine elongated for every round. Commercial applications require elongated. Why wouldn't homes have elongated too?
