If this is a screw-in fitting, and you got the extractor, your immediate problem may be taken care of. In general, PVC water systems are pretty simple to repair by just cutting out the broken part(s) and replacing using a repair coupler to rejoin the pipe where it was cut. A way to avoid risers breaking off is to use flexible tubing between the mainline and sprinkler head. This also makes getting the head at just the right angle and elevation very easy.
