Well, we could say we do it frequently and there is nothing wrong with that idea. But if the inspector disagrees, that would take precedence anyway. So you will have to wait for his decision.
: There is no obvious location to connect the vent pipe from the toilet, shower, sinks, etc in my basement to an existing line which goes up through the walls into the attic then through the roof. I was thinking about going from the bathroom location up into the garage and go straight up into the attic above the garage. Then, I can connect into an existing vent line that goes through the roof. What do you think? I tried going straight outside up along the outside wall of the house up to the roof, but the building inspector so NO! I cannot go outside. Is going into the garage doing the same or an I safe to do it. The building inspect has not yet commented on this option.
