My house was originally plumbed with the dreaded PB (QEST) brand Polybutelene pipe. I have not had any leaks from the pipe itself or the fittings. Hence I do not meet the qualifications of any of the class actions suits. All of my problems have been with the gray plastic shut off valves under the sinks and toilets. I have had four of these valves literally explode, sending the center of the valve across the room. Is this a common problem ? What are my options ? Should I be considering a total replumb job even though I have not had an pipes leak. From what I have read, it seems to be only a matter of time before I will have problems with the pipes as well. Help !
