I have seldom been able to reinstall a garbage disposer that is more than a couple of years old and not have it leak. For that reason, I always advise the customer to replace the disposer when they install a new sink. : We recently replaced our kitchen sink, and reconnected the garbage disposal. It leaks! Despite reconnecting it twice, and using a new mounting gasket, it continues to leak. Is there anyhting I can do without buying a new disposer? And what is the best way to remove the thin retaining ring from around the sink flange; the one that snaps into place to hold it all together?
