: I just installed a new sprinkler system and a new faucet in my basement bathroom. I tapped into the main line from street for the sprinkler system, the sprinkler came on last night and all of a sudden the pipes were shaking and singing and the cold water was running. I tried to shut off of water at the cold water valve, this failed and I had to use the emergency shut off. Any help is greatly appreciated.: Craig

Hard to say what happened, but you may have introduced some gravel or rocks into the line that wound up in your faucet.
