Cast iron is not brittle, but it will crack. The porcelain finish is somewhat fragile, and if the corner broke off without fracturing the enamel finish, then it probably was painted or otherwise refinished.
: Hi, I have a cast iron corner sink for aprox 1910. The corner was broken off in shipping. I have the piece that broke off. How do I fix this? I understand the old cast iron is brittle. The sink may have been refinished at one time. The underside of the sink has vitorian designs in the cast iron. I love the sink. Help please. Thanks Michele
