You can't and that is the reason I will not use them. You would have to shut off the water at the wall. A second problem is that if you go away, and it were to lose its "air bubble" and turn on, it would not turn off again until it was flushed the next time.

: I recently installed the American Standard smart valve 2000 and am very pleased with the product. I do have a question on, if my toilet was to become clogged and begin to overflow, how do I stop the water from running with this new water control product? With the old style you could stop the water from flowing by lifting the floating thingy (proper name unknown). Any suggestions? Thanks..
