|In response to Re: Toilet Flange Size|
It does not make a difference, although I prefer the 4" inlet. If the 4" x 3" elbow were a regular closet bend then the riser would be such that a flange would slide over it and it could be cut off to floor level. This fitting is designed to fit into a normal joist space.
: Does the toilet flange size, 3" or 4", make a difference? I have a 4" flange on a second story toilet that uses a 4" to 3" elbow into a 3" drain pipe. I would like to use a 3" flange with a 3" elbow to gain space. I removed a drop ceiling in my kitchen, and of course it turns out that the drain pipe extends about .5" below the rafter at the lowest end. The 3" elbow would let me maintain the correct slope and still fit. Any thoughts? Thanks.
