: There was an old toilet and shower in the home, we had someone add a whirlpool tub, two sinks and replace the old shower and toilet. the new toilet sits where the oil toilet was. For one week, i noticed that the whirlpool tub wasn't draining very fast. Last night, when the tub was plungered, sewage began backing up in the shower. Also now toilet won't flush and there is a slow knocking noise in one of the sinks. Liquid Plumr did not work. Help, we cannot afford a plumber right now.

Kara,
The first part of you post says, "we had someone add a whirlpool tub, two sinks and replace the old shower and toilet."

Then you said, "we cannot afford a plumber"

My first guess, would be that you had a "handyman" do the job. Did he install the plumbing with any "vents" for the fixtures? Does the new tub have a vent before the drain connects to the other plumbing? If not, it would perform as yours does. He may have left out about $25 worth of plumbing pipe and fittings.
