The piping would be somewhat complex when the heaters are not close together. You would have to have a pipe connecting the outlets of the two heaters with a valve in it. Also valves on the outlets of the heaters to isolate the bad water heater. : I am building a lake house that has three levels and am going to install two water heaters at different locations so I can minimize the time that it takes hot water to reach the sinks, showers. Is it possible to interconnect these two water heaters so that if one goes bad I can use the other to provide hot water to all three levels?
