: I mistyped -- It is actually a "STERLING" not a standard faucet

: : Hello -- great site! We have a shower / tub faucet that says "Standard" at the bottom. You turn left, say 0-45 degrees, to get the cold water to come on. Turning the knob further left, 45-90 degrees, gets you hotter water.

: : Here is the problem: The damn thing leaks!

: : I feel like I am at some kind of torture camp. Extremely hot water flows from this faucet at a constant trickle.

: : Can you please help me?

Paul,
Most of the time you have to replace the cartridge. Sterling did make a few different ones so you may have to take it apart to identify it. Here is a parts breakdown of a common sterling that may help. Use the link to see the others, I hope this helps.
