|In response to Re: installing whirlpool|
The only ways to install a tub in a 60" recesss are to either stand it on end and then let it slide down into position. Or place it on its front edge, move it into the recess, turn it parallel to the rear wall and then roll it down into position. These methods only work on a tub tht does not have a wall/surround attached to it. If it has a wall/surround then it must be slid inot place regardless of how much wall has to be removed.
: would like to install a new whirlpool tub/shower. Once I tear out old tub and surround to studs I will have approx. 60 1/2" to 61" of length. The new tub is 60", I cannot slide the tub in because I would have to demolish walls adjacent to tub enclosure. My question is once I clear the area around the old tub I can put the new one diagonally and hope to slide it down into postion. Will that extra 1/2" be enough to allow this to happen. Thanks
