First try to put aluminum foil in a cookie sheet, and put it under the vanity to see if the drip is in the exposed piping before it enters the wall. Wrap a wick of cotton sock or terry cloth around the horizontal run of pipe to cause and condensate to fall on the wick and drop onto the foil. (the tin foil makes a resonator out of a small drip and you can hear it louder) Before you tear the wallboard out yourself either contact a professional LICENSED leak detector company, or ask a LICENSED plumber to bring smoke to try to locate the leak if it is in an exposed area.
