dryer vent

When recently pouring a slab for an addition on my home I failed to take into account that the dryer would no longer be located on an outside wall, and did not put any way to vent it under or through the slab. Can I vent it upwards about twelve feet or so, and then out the second story wall? The original house was only one story, and the vent would be coming out above the old roof. Will the dryer be able to push the lint up that far? I purchased one of those boxes that are supposed to be for venting dryers indoors, but I don't want the humidity and heat problems. I thought I might be able to run the vent into the box to catch the lint, then run a second vent pipe from the box up the wall to vent the humidity. Will this work or is there a simpler way?
