: I have a whole-house water softener, which also feeds 2 outside spiggots. I am going to lay sod in my back yard and don't want to water with softened water. My water feed is 1" and the spiggots are 1/2". How should I run the pipe. One feed needs to run 20 feet and the other 30 feet. Should I run 3/4" to the spiggots and then reduce to 1/2" or just reduce it immediately to 1/2" and run to the spiggots?
