removal of vanity sink and disconnecting water supply

I have a wet bar in my family room that I have never used in 4 years and I am in the process of removing it. I have removed the sink and disconnected the drain pipe down to the wall. I can't slide the vanity out because the hot and cold shut off valves are wider than the holes in the bottom of the vanity. I figure I need to cut the hot and cold water pipe int he basement and seal them and I have located them in the basement but I don't know how to do this. What tools and materials will I need and what are the steps? Also what needs to be done with the drain pipe? I currently have a towel shoved in it. Also, I were to hire a plumber to do this, how much should I expect to pay and how long should it take to do?

Thanks,
Gary
