|In response to Re: sewer smell and venting|
: Our new house has a probelm. The washer and master tolit seem to share the same drain area. When the washer discharges or goes in to spill we hear bubbling noise coming from the tolit, sounds like it is bubbling up into the tolit but it is just air. We do notice a strong smeel of sewer gas ourside at times as well. Hard to have the windows open when this happens. I have added a 6 foot pipe onto the outside vent to try and get it up in to the breeze.
: Any help you can provide would be great.
: Mark. Sounds like your main drain is partially blocked. If it bubbles in the toilet, and the toilet is the lowest draing fixture (meaning in the first floor or basement) then your main drain is backed up. The smell out side your house is an indication of this also. It needs to be cleared with an electric sewer machine.
