Mud and Rocks???!!!$$$..I guess you know that you have a breakage in that line in which has collasped or something...The sewer-line is usually 3 to 6 feet down in the ground. You may need to contact a local drain-cleaner in your area who has locating equipment. If you can't afford one now, you may be able to by a 6 foot probe from a plumbing supply house and poke around in your yard till you hit it.
