|In response to Re: Installing clear-ice maker|
: I have an interest in installing a clear-ice maker in the future. However, I was wondering if I could tie the drain from the ice-maker into my kitchen sink drain. I would be purchasing an ice-maker with the factory installed pump. The drain line from the ice maker is 5/8" ID. The kitchen sink currently has a disposal and dishwasher connected on the right side. No items connected on the left.
: Any recommendations or advice? Could I somehow connect it to the left side of the sink (as if I were connecting a dishwasher drain to a sink drain without a disposal?)
Yes you can use you sink drain if you like. In my area there are saddle adapters availabe,it is in two pieces and is designed to clamp around the drain. This does require drilling a hole in the pipe, you then have a threaded outlet to attach to.
