|In response to Re: Fiberglass shower surround paintin|
The shower surround material is fiberglass by design, to be non porous, slippery, and easy to clean with mild abrasives. Because it has no pores, and is slippery, any paint you might use just wont stick, without you roughing up the gel coat of the existing tan color. Then when you do go to the trouble of painting the color on, it wont last because of the high moisture level and shrinking - expansion of hot and cold shower temperature changes. There actually are acrylic painting contractors that can get the job done professionally for you, but make sure the one you choose is LICENSED.
: I have a fiberglass shower surround in my lower level bathroom. It is a tan color and I was wondering if it is possible to change the color by painting or resurfacing?
