|In response to Re: drain for pedestal sink|
If you are describing it properly and it is the type sink I am familiar with, then the overflow function was incorporated into a the fitting that shut the drain and it was between the two faucets. This drain had the trap outside the pedestal, so the pedestal recess just had to be deep enough to accept the elbow drain fitting beneath the sink, similar to the drain on a bathtub.
: i have this old pedestal sink i'm trying to install. it has no overflow and the top is very close to the base with a 5" cut out for the pipe. has anyone had to create/improvise a drain pipe for one of these and what did you do? i'm hoping to put a trap in between the sink and the wall doing some fancy dancing with pipes.
