re-tooling an old bathroom

I have recently purchased an old house with a bathroom in the basement. It has a sink, toilet and shower. There is a decent amount of rust on the pipes that attach the sink to the drain. There is also a decent amount of rust on the pipe that connects the tank to the bowl. There is even some rust on the sink that has bled through the porcelin.

Here's one question:
I like the look of the older toilet & sink. Is it possible to clean up the rust (maybe replace a pipe or two) or do I have to replace them?

Here's another question:
The shower is appears to be metal with paint peeling on the inside and a cement floor. Is there an easy way to spruce this up or do I need to replace this as well?
