skylight

I have a small master bath (9x5.5) and I want it appear large so...I'm thinking of installing a skylight. I know nothing about skylights. I don't need one that opens / closes but I don't want a cheapie that will leak. I don't know how big to make it. I'm thinking of a smallish size with an angled shaft instead of the entire ceiling lifted. Any suggestions on a type and brand name? How do I clean a skylight? I'm also worried about the light ruining my cherry vanity.
