|In response to Re: Uneven tile floor for toilet install.|
: The tile floor I am installing my new toilet on is not level. When the toilet is placed on the flange and secured with the bolts there is a 1/4 to 3/8-inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the toilet. Should I pour a base out of mortar for the bowl to sit on? What advice do you have for me? If you would cc your response to my email I would greatly appreciate it.

A base of mortar that thin would probably break away in no time,if lowering the flange is not an option then you should shim the toilet and grout around it to hide the shims.Silicone around the base collects hair and molds that is why I would use grout
