Thanks for the follow-up -- I'll have to rethink the toilet.. ugh.. 14' sounds like it's so far away, but... you are probably right. Thanks : if you want a lifetime of toilet troubles, usually after every flush, connect a toilet to that 2" drain pipe. A pump would take care of that problem but could create many others. You should only use a pump as a last resort, not if you have a sewer line available even if it is 14' further away. : : Is it possible to use a 2" drain pipe for a toilet? I recently had a 7 foot x 18" cut put in my basement floor to add a bathroom. To my horror, the drain in the floor was only 2" in diameter. The 3 or 4" drain would have been 14 feet further away. Is it possible to use a air assisted toilet with this 2" drain? Would a sewerage pump ($400) be the only real answer?
