|In response to Re: Locate cast iron sewer pipes in basement|
Unless the metal detector is both powerful and sensitive, it will not likely detect the cast iron pipe at the depth it is normally installed under the floor. A professional locating service can tell you where it is.
: I'm planning on installing a 3/4 bath in my girlfriend's basement and was wondering if anybody has found a good tool to locate the 4" cast iron sewer lines. Does a metal detector work good enough to trust it? Just don't want to break out any more concrete than I have to. Thanks for the help!
