Break the old flange off of the pipe. Install a new cast iron flange, either by leading a new one on or using one that has three bolts to create an external compression joint. Then cut the pipe itself down to the required level. : i am redoing my bathroom and have a question about my closet flange it sits about 1 1/2 inches high then the floor ill be putting in. i was wondering if i should cut that down and use a compression pvc flange to replace the current flange, also the current flange is broken and all of the piping is cast iron including the flange.
