: : I am replacing the entire drain under a 2nd floor shower stall. The existing one products a great deal of noise in the shower stall coming out of the shower drain. The noise can be eliminated by taping about 1/2 of the drain opening closed. : : How can I install the new plumbing to correct this problem? : If there is a vented p-trap on the shower drain, it should be fairly quiet. Does it have one? It does have a vented trap but still makes a lot of gurgling noise. Would it be reasonable to install the down pipe at an angle to prevent the water from dropping straight into the bottom of the trap?
