If he will allow just testing the new piece then you will have to install a shutoff valve where you make the connection and then pressurize the new piece. If he wants the entire system tested, then you have to cap off all connections, including the gas meter, and pump up the piping to the 10 psi.
: I am installing a 10 ft section of 3/4 - 1/2 � black pipe for a gas cooktop. My inspector requires a gas pressure test be performed by me of 10 psi for 15 minutes and later in his presence.
: I have in the past done a similar thing with DWV, but have not seen a weenie or stoppers that would be appropriate for 3/4 or 1/2 � gas pipe.
: Can some kind soul tell me what I should ask for and a quick run down of the procedure so I don�t look like an idiot when I try to procure said items.
