The drain from my dishwasher connects to the drain from my kitchen sink, just above the trap (I'm guessing this is a typical set-up). As the "used" water is pumped out of the dishwasher and into the sink drain it makes a really annoying and loud gurgling sound ... it's been doing this for years and now it's finally driving me nuts! Is there a special kitchen sink drain pipe that's available that will muffle this sound? Or, do I need to install a separate drain for the dishwasher? I'm fairly handy (particularly with PVC pipe) so I'm sure I could successfully install a separate drain ... but HOW to do it is my question! Any suggestions? Thanks. Peter. |
