We just (this weekend) put in a 36" square shower adjacent to a whirlpool bath. Fairly easy job. It was a three piece unit. To minimize the risk of leakage through the seams I used foam in a can along the seams in the back. You cant seen it from the inside and it provide a watertight seam. No need for wallboard if its not up now.
: Also, when installing the fiberglass unit, is it necessary to put wall board up first? I have a concern because the room I am working in is not much longer than the standard 5 foot tub. : Any help or advice you can provide is greatly appreciated.
