: I am buying a home with galvinized plumbing that was built in 1954. The pipes appear to be in good shape. Should I re-plumb? Would a water softner or magnet system work to keep the pipes clean? The plumbing is not in the ground. It is run through the attic. Does this make a difference? Thanks
