: I am having a new house built. I noticed that the basement toilet drain pipe is 29 inches from the wall to the side of the toilet, not leaving much room for a vanity. When this was mentioned to my builder he said,"no problem we'll cap that off and install the toilet closer to the wall". Is this OK? Also is the Kohler wellworth a good toilet, there seems to be one good and one bad comment on your website? Would a gravity flush Gerber be a better choice? I installed Gerber 3.5gpf toilets in my new house in 1995. They are very unsatisfactory. They do not swirl and it would take two flushes most of the time. I have replaced two of four with Toto 1.5 gpf. They are great. One flush does the job. One of the remaining Gerber units is a gravity backflush or horizontal installed in my basement. It will not swirl and it takes three or four trys before it will even flush. The water just rises up and gently goes down without flushing. In other words I would not buy Gerber. The company rep out of Birmingham, AL was to come look at my backflush but never showed.
