shallow well pump problems

My shallow well pump has been acting up lately, but I'm not sure what the problem is. Occasionally, it will trip the circuit breaker (15 amp) when it gets to around 30 pounds pressure on the tank. The pump is a 20-40. Yesterday, it happened four times, and it's happened once so far today. When I reset the breaker, it works as normal. I did catch it once in the act and the pump motor didn't feel hot after it kicked the breaker. Is it the breaker, impeller, motor, dirt or gravel? (although we never have had a problem with dirty water or gravel in the lines) Any ideas? Also, how easy is it for a semi-amateur like myself to replace the pump. It doesn't look that complicated, but doesn't the storage tank need to be re-pressurized once the new pump is installed?
